Gastonia golfer takes 1A title
Greg Bunner of Gastonia Highland Tech shot
a 2-under par 70 Tuesday at Siler City Country Club to win
the 1A championship.
Topsail won the team title by 14 shots
over Kernersville Bishop McGuinness. Highland Tech was fifth.

The Triad Golf Today Junior Tour (TGTJT) has been awarded
the following qualifying criteria events for the seventh
annual Joe Cheves Junior Invitational @ Mimosa Hills in
Morganton, N.C. on Sept. 12-13, 2009.
Overall boys champion: 2008 North State Junior (Michael
Marshburn, Cary, NC)
Overall boys champion *: Atlantic Coast Junior Masters
(April 4-5)
Overall girls champion #: SunTrust Cup (Aug. 11-12)
* Event must have 25 or more boys playing from the championship
yardage in that event
# Girls score must be 160 or better and there must be
8 competitors from the championship tee
