Wilson Staff, Drive
Chip & Putt is
designed to give Families an introduction to the fun and
rewarding challenges of competitive golf.
No matter your level of experience, there is fun to be had
by all involved! Each participant is encouraged to do their
best and have a terrific time!
- Contestants
participate in three areas: driving, chipping and putting.
- Certificates will
be awarded to the top-five finishers in each skill in
each age group (6u, 8u, 10u, 12u 14u, 16u 18u, adults,
50u, 60u, both male and female).
- Medals will be presented
to the top-three overall finishers in each age group at
the local events.
- Age Requirements and Cost:
Wilson Staff, Drive Chip & Putt is a competition and
the entry fee is $10.00 for local Qualifiers, $25.00 for
Regional's and Nationals events.
- Age of Play: No matter
when you register for the event, you are grouped based
on your age on event day.
Regional note: the age-group for which you qualify is
the age-group in which you will compete at through out
the competition.
- Scoring: The scoring system
is the same at the local, regional and national competitions
and is a ranking format declaring the top point earners.
The scoring program ranks each participant based on cumulative
place finishes during each competition (driving, chipping
and putting).
For example, if a competitor has the longest drive in
their age group, he or she will have a ranking of one
(1).
If the same player ranks 10th in chipping and 2nd in putting,
that player's overall ranking score will be 13.
Now, all the competitors' scores will be tabulated based
on their combined ranking tally from the three events.
The player with the lowest overall ranking scores (best
combined finish) - much like scores during a 72-hole golf
event - will advance to the regional and/or national championships.
