TRIAD GOLF TODAY JUNIOR TOUR GUIDELINES
A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR
Please print and turn in signed copy of guidelines at your first tournament.
Golf has a history of being a Gentlemen and Ladies game. Triad Golf Today Junior Tour wants to promote integrity and sportsmanship. This is an honorable game and we plan to preserve that honor. To love the game is to play by the rules.
Rules and Guidelines:
· Play will be governed by the current USGA Rules of Golf.
· If you see a violation tell your opponent. Do not involve spectators
or parents. If you can not agree on the ruling, bring it to a rules committee
member or the Director as soon as possible or by the end of the round and before
score cards are signed and turned in. If there is a question play two balls
from that location. You must follow these directions or the infraction can be
ruled invalid.
· Keep a proper distance from the players (50 feet is mandatory). This
rule will be strictly inforced.
· Spectators must stay on the cart path or in the rough with the exception
of around the greens. Spectators may go near the greens to watch the players
putt. Make sure you continue to avoid verbal contact with your child. Observe
the Advice rule!
· Do Not give advice to any player. Definition: Advice is any counsel
or suggestion, which could influence a player in determining his or her play,
the choice of club, or the method of making a stroke. PENALTY IS 2 STROKES!
See Rule # 8-1 in the rulebook.
· Applies to 9 & Under Boys and 9 and Under Girls: Parents, you have
caddie privileges for your child. Caddie privileges as follows- Line up on Tee
only, Tell them yardage, club, direction to aim, hit, or putt but do not physically
line up on each shot. Maximum of 2 practice swings.
· Juniors must carry their own clubs (11 & under may use a pull cart).
· Act a Fore caddy. Keep a distance far enough ahead of the players as
not to interfere with the players' shot.
Clothing Guidelines:
· To comply with most of the courses we play please use the following
guidelines.
· Soft spikes will be required. Also, collared shirts and slacks or Bermudas
will be required. ( No jeans are allowed)
Tournament Awards:
Awards and points are awarded at each event. Awards for the top two players
in each Boys division are awarded and top two players in the Girls divisions(based
on percentage of registration). Points are awarded to every player who completes
the tournament. Points will accumulate for each session, Fall-Winter and Spring-Summer.
TGTJT East- West Invitational:
Triad Golf members can become eligible to participate in a Ryder Cup format
between two teams chosen from the TGTJT regions and our Sandhills Swing Summer
Tour. Qualification will be based on the following criteria, points and finishes
in TGTJT tournaments, as well as overall representation of the sportsmanship
and integrity TGTJT stands for.
Points System:
The following points will be used to establish a points champion for the tour,
which will be crowned at the end of the season.
1st place 25 points
2nd place 20 points
3rd place 16 points
4th place 13 points
5th place 10 points
6th place 5 points
Post a score 3 points
Ties are awarded the same level of points.
Every participant will earn 1 point for each competitor they post a better score
than.
Payment Policy:
Triad Region: Entry Fee Deadline
for this region only will be posted only for specific tournaments.
All other tournaments in the Triad Region may be paid on the day of the tournament.
For first time membership and registration for an event less than 7 days must
be secured by a Visa or Mastercard if registering by email, fax, or telephone.
Charlotte, Triangle, and Virginia Regions: All registration fees must
be received 7 days in advance or by closing date to secure a tee time.
Non payment Policy:
Non Sufficient Funds: $25 charge on all returned checks.
Declined Credit Cards: $10 processing fee.
We reserve the right to request all future tournaments be paid in advance.
Refund Policy: A full refund will be given if TGTJT receives verified notice
8 days prior to tournament date Except in cases where there is a designated
Non refundable after Date. A $15 administrative fee will be charged if
notice is given 4- 7 days prior to event. No refunds will be given if notice
is received 3 days or less to an event without a written doctor's excuse. If
the tournament is cancelled by The Course due to inclement weather before play
begins then a refund will be given less a $15 administration fee for costs already
incurred, or the entry fee may apply to the rescheduled tournament or the player
may choose to apply the fee to a future tournament within the same session.
In cases where play has begun The Course policy may dictate and overide The
TGTJT policy on inclement weather.
