Greensboro, NC - Triad Golf Today Junior Tour ran their annual two day event The SunTrust Cup, a Girls Open sponsored by SunTrust Bank. Kelly Paul came out and welcomed the girls on behalf of SunTrust Bank. Held at Bryan Park Golf Players Course on August 5 & 6, 2005. This year had a field of 61 girls competing for the TYGA rankings in the 12-18 Girls. They also have a 12 and under Girls division for those competing from the Red Tees. It came down to the wire with several competing for The SunTrust Cup. There were ties for 2nd and 3rd between Emily Cheves, Apex NC and Ashley Denton, Wendell NC and for 3rd and 4th place Sharlene Gale, Clayton NC and Brittany Zachrich, Hickory NC. Overall the winner of The SunTrust Cup 1st place was Courtney Taylor from Lincolnton NC.
